(Neola) A battle of unbeaten rivals will play out Friday night in Neola when Tri-Center welcomes Class 1A #10 Underwood for the Trojan’s homecoming game.
Even though it’s still very early in the season and it’s a non-district game, Tri-Center coach Ryan Schroder expects an incredible atmosphere. “I think it’s going to be a crazy atmosphere especially with them being four miles down the road and it being our homecoming game. I’m looking for one of the biggest crowds we’ve ever had and pretty electric.
Coach Schroder breaks down Underwood. “They are a very talented team. They are an athletic team. Their offensive and defensive line do a great job, great coaching. They are a complete package. Fortunately for us we do a lot of the same stuff. We are similar in a lot of ways.”
Tri-Center has multiple seniors that have started since they were freshman and that experience is paying dividends. Tri-Center is off to an impressive 2-0 record including a 48-0 decision over MVAOCOU in Week 2. Coach Schroder admits a win against the Eagles would be a huge confidence builder especially after suffering a lopsided loss at their place in a turnover filled game last season.
