Tom Cappel elected new Fire Chief

(Atlantic) Atlantic City Councilman Chris Jimerson reported to the Council Wednesday night that Tom Cappel was selected as the new Fire Chief.

Jimerson says four firemen were nominated, two declined, and Cappel was voted in.

Cappel’s selection comes on the heels of current Fire Chief Mark McNees recent announcement that he would be stepping down at the end of his term on December 31, 2019, after 13-years at the helm. McNees, who has been a member of the Department for the past 29 ½ years, will remain on the force.

Cappel’s appointment is pending City Council Approval.
