(Atlantic) In an extremely competetive sectional tournament, the Atlantic Trojans, Creston Panthers, and Harlan Cyclones all kept their golf seasons alive on Friday. Just three strokes seperated the two teams in the first round of post-season played at Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
Atlantic won the sectional title with a 302. Just one stroke back was Harlan's 303. Creston also moves on to the next round with their 305. Denison-Schleswig was in the hunt, but came up short with a 312. ADM (319), Shenandoah (326), Glenwood (357), and Greene County (388) rounded out the field.
Evan Schuler shot one of the best rounds of his prolific senior season. Schuler fired a 66 on the day. Zac Stork delivered in a big way for the Trojans scoring 76. Jake Olsen and Kyle Nelson were counted on for the other two team scores. Each shot 80.
Humboldt and Spencer advanced from the opposite sectional. The five teams will meet at Carroll next Friday with the top two team advancing to state. Humboldt shot 330 and Spencer shot a 339.
