(Adair) State qualifying track meets will be held around the state Thursday. Adair-Casey will be competing at Earlham.
The Bombers have several events they hope to get to state. Coach John Wolf lists the Long Jump, 100, 200, and 4X100 as events he thinks can not only get to state, but medal at state.
Traeton Jensen has the state’s 21st best long jump this year and is third in the district. The 100 Meter Dash should be a great race between Adair-Casey’s Emmitt Wheatley and Owen Gibbons, of Madrid. Each have run 11.35 or better, ranking in the top 15 in the state. Wheatley also has one of the state’s best times in the 200. His 22.63 is Class 1A’s 2nd fastest time recorded on quikstats.
The 4X100 Meter Relay, which has medaled at state in two of the last three years, has clocked a season best of 45.65. Clayton Plowman, Charlie Terry, Emmitt Wheatley and Traeton Jensen make up that 4X100 this year for the Bombers.
