(Audubon) The Audubon Girls Golf Team is getting set for their first competition of the season which will be on their home course next Friday. The Wheelers are coming off a 2013 season that finished with the whole team qualifing for the state tournament.
Only two golfers are back from that squad though with Sudie Bylund and Faith Fliflet set to lead the way this year. Bylund has placed in the top ten at the state tourney in each of the last two years while Fliflet has the potential to get to state as an individual this year according to head coach Paul Lynch. Beyond those two, it will be an entirely new varsity lineup for the defending Western Iowa Conference champs.
Coach Lynch says sophomore Jorja Weitl has the ability to make a name for herself. Outside of Bylund and Fliflet she's the lone golfer with any returning experience as two freshmen and a first year sophomore round out the squad.
