(Des Moines) Big games by Trey Robinson and Jacob Flathers guided (24-1) Treynor into the Class 2A semi-finals at the boys state basketball tournament. The 5th ranked Cardinals advanced with a 61-53 win over North Cedar Tuesday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.

Robinson and Flathers combined to shoot 13-15 from the field to collectively scored 37 points. The duo also contributed 20 rebounds as the Cardinals dominated the boards 29-13.

Treynor shot a blistering 73.3% in the first half to lead them to a 29-28 edge at the break. North Cedar attempted 29 threes and their 8 makes beyond the arc were enough to keep it close, but Treynor's rebounding edge was among a multitude of deciding factors.

In addition to the strong games from Robinson and Flathers, Nick Paulsen contributed a dozen points, six rebounds, and six assists.

The win is their 22nd in a row, they'll will play West Fork in the semi-finals on Thursday afternoon. West Fork is ranked 3rd with a record of 24-1. The other semi-final matchup pairs #1 Western Christian against #6 Cascade.
