(Griswold) The field in Class 1A Boys Basketball will shrink from 32 to 16 Thursday night as the district finals will be held around the state. Nodaway Valley and Griswold are among teams still alive in Class 1A, the Wolverines and Tigers will vie for the District 13 title in a game we'll have on KSOM.
7th rated Nodaway Valley is 21-2 on the season. The Wolverines strormed past CAM 73-38 in last week's District Quarterfinals and then survived foul trouble to win a close one against Earlham earlier this week, 57-51.
Griswold comes in at 15-8 overall, the Tigers have convincing postseason wins over Exira-EHK (49-24) and Orient-Macksburg (83-52).
Griswold coach Chad Rodgers says his primary point of emphasis will be on his team's ball handling. Griswold won 7 of their last 9 games last season, which he says set the stage for a good run this year.
The game will be played at West Central Valley High School in Stuart with the tip-off at 7:00. The winner moves to to a substate game in Atlantic on Saturday night against either 21-3 East Mills or 18-6 Sidney.
