(Oakland) The Riverside girls basketball team got the 2014 Regional Tournament underway with a 43-38 win at AHST. The Bulldogs have nearly doubled their season win total in the last couple of weeks, going from 4-15 to 7-15 thanks to back to back wins to close out the regular season followed by Saturday's regional tourney win.

Riverside Coach Tom Grobe says the momentum is good for his team no matter what happens in their matchup with 17-4 IKM-Manning Tuesday. The Wolves have gotten the better of the Bulldogs twice this year, 71-28 on December 17th and 72-48 on January 28th. Coach Grobe says his team has a "Slugger's" chance, but says that's why they play the games.

Riverside was led by Sheyenne Smith in the team's win over AHST Saturday. The junior had 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots. Bailey McCready added 10 for Riverside. McCready and Rachel Novotny are the lone two senior starters for the Bulldogs, trying to keep their careers alive Tuesday.
