(Greenfield) The Nodaway Valley girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 46-31 win over Bedford Tuesday. The Wolverines finish with a 13-8 overall record and placed in a tie for 2nd in the Pride of Iowa Conference.
Both Paige McElfish and Josie Clarke posted double-doubles. Coach Tom Thompson says he's excited about the future of the two freshman. Boosting the cause for the Wolverines last night was their best showing from the free throw line all season at 68%.
Coming up next is Earlham in the first round of the regional tournament. Coach Thompson says it's a one game at a time approach but admits that he is optomistic that his team can make a run in postseason play. Earlham bested Nodaway Valley by four points in their regular season matchup.
