(Elk Horn) Exira-EHK improved to 5-2 on the season and dropped CAM to 1-7 with a 53-33 win in each teams final game ahead of the holiday break.
Exira-EHK used a 12-4 run early in the second quarter to turn a close game into a route on Friday against CAM. The Spartans ultimately outscored the Cougars 20-5 in the second quarter to lead big at halftime. The big spurt in the second quarter erased a slow start that was filled with foul trouble.
Alyssa Kragelund got CAM off to a good start hitting 6/9 free throws in the first eight minutes. Kragelund would score a season high 20 points. Rachel Smith paced the Spartans with 16 points and Claire Paulsen hit three of Exira-EHK's six 3-pointers and finished with 11.
