(Griswold) Tyrel Peters scored 18 points and Grant Haynes added 13 in Griswold's 63-31 triumph over conference foe Logan-Magnolia on Tuesday. The 31 points allowed is a new season low for the Tigers.
Head coach Chad Rodgers credits the team's switch to a 1-3-1 zone as their primary defense. Tyrel Peters directs play at the top while Caleb Schaaf and Jacob Maass help disrupt things on the edges.
The win last night for Griswold puts them at 5-1 on the season, one of their best starts in several years. Tyrel Peters 20.7 points per game average leads the offense.
The Tigers will have a big test against IKM-Manning on Thursday. The Wolves are the only undefeated team remaining in the Western Iowa Conference. Coach Rodgers describes them as a "Scary" opponent. He says the Tigers will need to cut down on their turnovers to make it a competetive game on Thursday.
