(Elk Horn) Exira-EHK Junior Evan Hansen has a lot of accomplishments on his wrestling resume and he can now add 100 win club to the list.
The state's top ranked wrestler at 182 pounds picked up two wins on Tuesday night to reach 100 career victories. The defending 145 pound state champion is off to an undefeated start to his junior season. Hansen stated last week in an interview with KSOM/KS95 Sports that 100 wins was a big honor, but he has bigger goals in mind. Among the early season goals for Hansen was to win the Riverside tournament which had been the only tournament in his prep career that he hadn't won. He secured that goal last Saturday and kept the momentum going Tuesday by picking up his 100th win.
Hansen's teammate and training partner Trey Sander missed the last two competitions with an illness. Sander, state ranked at 195 pounds, currently has 99 career wins. The Spartans compete at the Kuemper Catholic Tourney later this week.
