(Neola) 2-0 Tri-Center hosts 3-0 IKM-Manning in a battle of Western Iowa Conference boys basketball leaders tonight.
Tri-Center has picked up wins over Adair-Casey and Missouri Valley to start the year. They are averaging 75 point per game, much to the liking of head coach Chad Harder. Harder says the team has really bought into the style of play this year.
Gone from last year’s 11-12 squad is Britton Barrier who led the team in nearly every stat category. The Trojan’s will attempt to replace him by committee with only two returning starters. Sam Sorensen has picked up much of the scoring slack averaging 22.0 points per game. Sorenson also leads the team in rebounds and assists. Returning starter Nick Guarino is also a double figure scorer and coach Harder lists him as the team's best defender.
Coach Harder has high praise for IKM-Manning and says it will be a big challenge for his team Friday night. The Wolves are led by Sam Wegner, Kyle Wagner, and Cody Eischied. Those three combine to average over 47 points per game.
IKM-Manning’s 3-0 start includes wins over Underwood, Panorama, and Treynor.
