(Griswold) If ever there was a game that featured a tale of two halves, it came Friday night in Griswold. In the girls contest between Griswold and AHST things were neck and neck through the first half with neither team ever leading by more than three. Griswold turned a 21-19 halftime advantage into a 51-31 victory.
The teams traded baskets through the first two quarters with AHST's Danika Grobe scoring 11 first half points to keep the Vikings in the game. Grobe would score 12 points in the game, but cooled off in the second half and Griswold's Jeanna Fruend warmed up. The sophomore scored ten of her game high 13 points after the break to help lead Griswold on a 20-6 run to open up the second half. A big three pointer by Brooke Hansen at the end of the third quarter gave Griswold an 8 point lead and the Tigers kept the momentum going in the 4th. Hansen also finished in double figures with 10 point on the night.
Griswold improves to 2-1 on the season.
