(Greenfield) In High School Girls Basketball last night on KSOM it was Clarinda hanging on to beat Nodaway Valley 57-55.
Jenny Bair's 11 first quarter points helped Clarinda get off ot a good start and the Cardinals never trailed in the win. Nodaway Valley made two big runs in the 2nd half and erased a 13 point fourth quarter deficit to tie it at 53 in the final minutes, but Clarinda's Jenny Bair and Rachel Bair connected on four straight free throws down the stretch to pull out hte win. Clarinda's Jaedra Moses and Nodaway Valley's Paige McElfish were the games high scorers with 17 each. Jenny Bair with 16 and Abby Brown with 10. Nodaway Valley also had two others in double figures as Josie Clarke's 13 points and Josie Carter with 12 boosted the Wolverine offense.
Clarinda improves to 2-0 on the season while Nodaway Valley drops to 0-2. The Wolverines two losses are by a combined three points.
