(Des Moines) #2 Grandview will host #5 Morningside in the NAIA football playoffs on Saturday. The Vikings are 12-0 and beat Tabor College 44-24 on Saturday to move into the semi-finals. The 11-1 Mustangs kept their season alive by eliminating 4th ranked Baker 36-28. Morningside was the national runner-up a year ago.


Area players listed on the Grandview roster include Dan Duysen of East Mills, Dallas Franks of Fremont-Mills, Josh Callmer from Panorama, and Cody Morris of Bedford. Local players on the Morningside team are Joe Brummer of Harlan, Nolan Long and Trevor Pavlik each of Treynor, Briar Evans and Alan Smith from Creston, Tri-Center graduate Britton Barrier, along with Andrew Overton, Derek Hall, and Tanner Petersen all from Denison-Schleswig.


Saturday's other semi-final game matches #3 Carroll against #1 Cumberlands. The championship game will be played December 21st in Rome, Georgia.
