(Cedar Falls) Things spiraled out of control in the very early stages for AHST in their semi-final football contest against #1 ranked West Lyon. The Wildcats rushed for over 400 yards in theffirst half to lead 50-14 by the break. To make matters worse, AHST lost starting quarterback Nathan Herbst and leading rusher Kyle Bauerkemper to injury in the first two quarters.

The 63-21 loss brings the Vikings season to a close at 12-1 overall. The 21 points is the most West Lyon had allowed in a game all season long. AHST scored on a 46 yard TD pass from Herbst to Lee Whyte, a 79 yard kickoff return by Austin Fink and a three yard run by fink who was forced to play quarterback by the end of the game due to injuries. West Lyon will meet up with BGM next week in the state title game.
