(Adair-Casey) Adair-Casey senior Clayton Plowman has added another record to his long list of impressive accomplishments. The all-time leader in 8-player football for rushing yardage now holds the career mark for touchdowns as well. Plowman carried the ball 27 times for 275 yards and 5 TD's in Adair-Casey's 65-26 win over Wayne in Friday's quarterfinals.
With the win, Adair-Casey advances to the UNI-Dome for the first time since 2009. The Bombers will play defending state runner-up Don-Bosco in the semi-finals on Thursday at 9:06am. Both teams are undefeated.
Adair-Casey is led by Plowman with 2,130 yards on the year and 41 rushing TD's. He is averaging 224 rushing yards per game in the playoffs. Don-Bosco counters with a big star of their own, quarterback Jake Hogan has 2,194 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. Hogan has also thrown for 1,209 yards with 25 TD's and only 2 interceptions.
Both teams have had prolific offenses so far this year so don't be surprised to see a shootout. Don-Bosco prevailed in a historic 78-76 game against Murray in last year's semi-finals. This season Adair-Casey has topped 70 points five times compared to Don-Bosco's two times over 70 points and four times over 60.
