(Ames) The No. 23/20 Iowa State women’s basketball team defeated North Dakota 84-55 at Hilton Coliseum Sunday evening. The Cyclones were powered on the back of a career-high 32 points for Hallie Christofferson. The win improved the Cyclones to 33-8 all-time in season-openers and Iowa State is now 19-0 under the direction of Head Coach Bill Fennelly. Christofferson’s 32 points are tied for the 10-most in Iowa State history and is the sixth-most in Hilton Coliseum. She went 11-of-18 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. Christofferson recorded her 12th-career double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds.
With her 32 points, Christofferson recorded her 59th-career double-digit scoring effort. Christofferson moved up to 19th on ISU's career scoring chart (1,170). Anne O'Neil (2003-05) and Anna Prins (2010-13) are tied for 18th, with 1,186 points.
Iowa State continues its home stand as it faces South Dakota on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones and Coyotes will tip off at 7 p.m.
