(Adair) Adair-Casey stayed perfect on the season with a 73-38 win over Twin Cedars, Bussey in 2nd round playoff action on Monday. The Bombers are on the verge of their first trip to the dome since 2009.
Adair-Casey started quickly when Clayton Plowman took the opening kickoff at the five yard line, broke two tackles at the 23, hurdled a defender at the 30 and raced up the sideline for the touchdown. The extra point was good and Adair-Casey led 7-0 just :13 into the game. Plowman added seven more touchdowns on runs of 6, 22, 4, 11, 31, 47, and 25 yards. Emmitt Wheatley had a nine yard touchdown run and caught seventeen yard touchdown strike from Traeton Jensen. Jensen also found Brad Patterson on a 45 yard score. Adair-Casey rolled to a 27-6 first quarter lead and were up 33-18 by halftime. Twin Cedars got as close as 33-24 at one point in the second half, but Adair-Casey answered quickly. The Bombers broke through with a big 4th quarter to put the game away.
11-0 Adair-Casey will play 8-3 Wayne in the quarterfinals on Friday.
