HARLAN TWO WINS AWAY FROM 2ND UNI-DOME TRIP IN PAST 3 YEARS

(Harlan) 9-1 Harlan takes on 8-2 Carroll tonight in a Class 3A playoff football showdown. Both teams have very impressive resumes coming in. Harlan's only loss is the Carrol, 14-7 in Week 3, while Carroll's lone two set backs came to Class 2A #1 Kuemper Catholic and Class 3A #1 Bishop Heelan Catholic.

Harlan head coach Curt Bladt notes that second chances are rare and says his team is glad to still be playing. They survived a scare from LeMars in round one, winning 20-14 behind 284 rushing yards from Nate Gettys. Gettys missed the regular season matchup with an ankle injury and both coaches agreet that he can be a difference maker.

Both defenses have been incredibly stout this year. Harlan's defensive unit has given up more than 14 points in a game only once all season. The Cyclones are led in tackles by Michael Sorfendon with 109 on the season including 14 in the win over LeMars. Coach Bladt says they are a group that really hustles to the football.

Pre-game coverage starts tonight at 6:30 on KSOM. The kickoff will be at 7:00. Tonight's winner faces either Bishop Heelan Catholic or Spencer on Friday in the quarterfinals.
