(Guthrie Center) After losing only three seniors from last year, the expectation are very high for the upcoming Guthrie Center football season. The Tigers struggled early in the year, but finished strong with consecutive wins to end the season with a 2-7 record.
Head coach Bob Bolton says the players are running through things more efficiently in practice and asking inteligent questions. As the season nears, two key things coach Bolton is keeping an eye on are the running game and the defense. Running the football effectively is something Guthrie Center will try to get back to this season. On defense he says the team struggled to pick up a new scheme at the beginning of last season, but ironed things out by the end of the year. He's hoping to see that unit pick up where they left off.
Guthrie Center opens the season against a Panorama team that has some key spots to fill. Coach Bolton says he's expecting the Panthers to be very big and fast just like they have been in recent years.
