(Adair) The Adair-Casey/CAM cross country teams will be really, really, young according to head coach Dave Sanders. The good news is the teams does have an increase in numbers for the upcoming season. Six boys runners are set to compete for the Bombers this season while seven girls have reported out for the sport. A big reason for the spike in participation is the sharing agreement with CAM this year.
The boys team loses two of their top runners from a season ago as state qualifier Spencer Rochholz graduated and Emmitt Wheatley opted to focus on football only. On the girls side, coach Sanders says despite the fact that they have some seniors and juniors, the squad is still inexperienced because it's the first year out for most of the runners.
Coach Sanders says practice has gone well the first two weeks, but the heat this week will make things difficult to work around. The first meet for the Bombers wil be September 10th at Treynor.
