(Neola) Tri-Center is coming off of back to back playoff appearances, but the team is hungry after a first round playoff exit a season ago.
A trio of talented rushers graduated with Britton Barrier, Doug Hoke and Loren Williams all gone. Each of them ran for at least 400 yards and the trio combined for 29 rushing touchdowns. However head coach John Tiarks sounds confident with the individuals who will fill those spots.
Wes Zimmerman takes over at quarterback, Austin Hoke at wingback, and Ethan Christensen at running back. Coach Tiarks says all of those players are very capable and could have been multi-year starters at other schools.
Back is leading rusher Ben Wellman who ran for a team best 962 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. It's Wellman's third year as a starter.
Despite losing some extremely talented players from a year ago, the product overall may be just as good if not better according to coach Tiarks. Tri-Center kicks things off at AHST this Friday night in a game we will have on KSOM2.
