(Oakland) Mitch Rice takes over the Riverside football program that is coming off of a 2-7 2012 season. He says the goal of the team is to rebuild the program from top to bottom which will take the entire community to do.
A large senior class will look to lead the way under the new regime. 13 seniors are out for football including some new faces that hadn't been out in recent years. Coach Rice says their leadership by example throughout the off-season was great.
The team will feature a ground and pound physical style of play. Travis Henningsen will shift from quarterback to running back to try and fill the role of 2012 graduate Clay Harris. Tanner Ford and Brad McGinnis battle for the quarterback position.
Riverside's first game will be at home against Audubon on August 30th. We'll have the game on KSOM.
