(Stanton) Three straight trips to the state tournament have driven interested in the Stanton volleyball program to an all-time high. The team has 34 players out for volleyball which is very exciting to head coach Jody Druvinga.
The Viqueens finished 34-3 a year ago and return some very key players from that group. Carmen Subbert will enter her fourth season as a starter this year. She garnered several post season honors a year ago and will be joined by other key returners Macy Elwood and Erin Dekay.
Several newcomers are eager to stet up as well. Some of those players include Haley Weis, Moriah Kammerer, Avery Taylor, Madison Wookie, Ashley Palmquist, Heidi Vanderholm and Logan Wagg.
Coach Druvinga says the team will take things one game as a time as they try to make it four straight trips to state. The team will open up the season August 27th at Nishnabotna.
