(Ames) Hamlin native and former Exira High School star basketball player Hallie Christofferson has had a busy summer in preparation for her senior season at Iowa State. The team gets together for weightlifting and conditioning each morning while also holding an open gym once per week.
When asked what part of her game she is trying to improve on this offseason, Christofferson responded by saying that her leadership skills are one of the biggest priorities. As a senior she is trying to become more of a vocal leader as opposed to her natural tendency to lead by example.
Christofferson is coming off of her best collegiate season by far. As a junior she averaged 15.6 points per game which led the team. She was named named to the Big 12 All-Conference team at season's end. Iowa State is coming off of a 24-9 season.
