(Glenwood) For the fourth straight postseason, Glenwood and Harlan will oppose one another in high school baseball. Harlan is ranked third with a 27-7 record. 8th ranked Glenwood is 27-8. The teams will meet in Glenwood tomorrow night.
Glenwood beat Harlan in the district finals during their 2010 state championship run but since then it’s been Harlan topping Glenwood 7-1 in a 2011 substate final game and the Cylcones bettering the Rams last year in the district finals 7-3. In their last six regular season meetings Harlan has won three games and Glenwood has won three games. That includes the doubleheader in Harlan on June 18th of this year that they split. 6-5 and 2-0 were the final scores in that one. David Ratigan is the likely starting pitcher for Harlan. He is 6-1 with a 2.43 ERA. Ratigan was asked about Glenwood following Harlan’s 6-2 win over Carroll in the District Final.

Glenwood is expected to counter with their ace, Senior Justin Fisher, who has a 1.73 ERA and a 7-1 record. Fisher pitched a complete game shutout with only two hits and one walk allowed against Harlan when they played in the regular season. The winner advances to the state tournament. Harlan has made back to back state tournament appearances and a dozen trips overall. Glenwood’s lone state tournament was in 2010 when the claimed the Class 3A state title.
