(Logan) According to Logan-Magnolia coach Will Azinger, his team's ability to take advantage of early CAM mistakes were a big reason that his team is moving on in the district tournament.
The Panthers improved to 13-15 with the 7-2 win. Brett Greenwood pitched five shutout innings in the win. He was pulled late in the game with Panthers having a seven run lead they wanted to be able to keep his innings number down for availablity later in the week. Logan-Melby, Brennan Azinger, and Jarek Richardson all contributed two hits as the Panthers jumped on CAM early with a two run first inning and a four run second.
Coach Azinger says the team came together nicely since their eastern Iowa road trip in late June. The team comnined to go 2-3 in cames against Calamus-Wheatland, Central Lee, and Mount Pleasant. After that, their lone losses are to IKM-Manning, Underwood, and Atlantic, with big wins against Coon Rapids-Bayard, Missouri Valley, CAM, and Treynor in that span.
