(Avoca) For a second straight game the AHST baseball team has posted a one run district win. After beating West Harrison on Saturday 5-4, the Vikings triumphed over Exira-EHK Tuesday 3-2. AHST improved to 10-15 on the season, Exira-EHK's 2013 campaign is over at 16-6.
Tuesday's win for the Vikings came in come from behind fashion with two runs in the seventh inning. Lee Whyte led off the inning with a single and was brought home on a base hit by Zach Hagadon. Whyte was put into scoring position by a bunt from Cain Francois and then moved to third on Kyle Bauerkemper's groundout to first base. After Whyte's game tying run, Hagadon then scored the game winning run on a wild pitch after he had advanced to third base on a hit and run by Jake Larsen. The Vikings were down to their final strike before rallying back in the final frame.
They'll now play Logan-Magnolia on Thursday night in a game we will have on KSOM. Logan-Magnolia defeated CAM 7-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers are 13-15 overall.
