(Griswold) The Griswold Tiger softball team has lived to play another day in the 2013 regional tournament. The Tigers held off a furious East Mills rally in the seventh inning and eventually moved on to play #2 Treynor on Wednesday.
Things were looking good for the Tigers through six and half innings. The squad led East Mills 6-0 and pitcher Brooke Hansen was in the midst of six shutout innings with only two hits allowed in the game. The bottom of the seventh though was when East Mills finally got their offense going. The squad rallied for six runs to force extra innings. Griswold quickly responded in the 8th by scoring five runs to earn the 11-6 win.
Kinzey Nicklaus had a big day for Griswold with the bat. The sophomore drove in six runs with her four hits in five at bats. Hannah Misner went 3-5 with two runs driven in.
Next up for the 12-14 Tigers is 25-5 Treynor tonight. Treynor has defeated Griswold in each of the teams previous matchups this season.
