(Carroll) Kuemper, Catholic, Carroll behind solid pitching and timely hitting blanked Atlantic 8-0 in Hawkeye Ten Conference baseball Monday night at Carroll stadium.
The Knights scored one run in the second on Ben Hicks RBI single. They plated three more in the fourth on Colby Baumhover’s RBI double and Bryce Wessels RBI single. The Knights tacked on four more runs in the sixth inning. Logan Nolting smacked an RBI single and Chris Halbur had the knock out punch with a two run homer. Alex Drees also scored in the frame on a ground ball.
Chris Halbur led Kuemper with three hits including a two-run homer. Bryce Wessels went 2-4, Kolby Hilgenberg ended the night 2-2, and Logan Nolting, Alex Drees, Ben Hicks and Colby Baumhover each singled for the Knights.
Atlantic scattered five hits in the game. Ryan Hawkins had two hits for the Trojans, Chad Christiansen knocked a double and a single, and Logan Steffens had a base hit.
Riley Bach picked up the win for the knights now 17-5 on the season. Zach Nelson took the loss for the 5-17 Trojans.
