The Nodaway Valley softball team led from start to finish in their twelfth victory of the year. Josie Carter got the Wolverine offense started early as she led off the first inning with a single and scored on Paige McElfish's towering fly ball to deep left field that resulted in an Adair-Casey error. Carter would go on to have a 4-5 day at the plate scoring two of Nodaway Valley's 9 runs. The big inning for the Wolverines came in the 4th when Rachel Jacobsen, Sidney Hohertz, and Carter had 3 consecutive hits to start the inning. They would all score in the 4th along with Sadie Harter and McElfish thanks to three Adair-Casey errors. After the 5 run 4th inning, Nodaway Valley led 8-0 and they would extend their lead to 9-0 in the sixth when Sidney Reeves singled home McElfish.
Adair-Casey's offense would come to life in the bottom of the 6th to make a game out of it. Robin Waholvd and Brenna Westergard single to start the inning and a one out walk to Emma Ferguson loaded the bases. From there Brianna Mulbach drove in a run on a fielders choice, Paige Kingery hit an RBI single, and Kayla Anderson reached on an error. The big hit in the inning came off the bat of Katie Clark with a 3 run home run to make it a 9-6 game but that's all the closer the Bombers would get as they went down in order in the 7th.
Nodaway Valley improved to 12-17 on the season heading into their game with Mt. Ayr tonight. Adair-Casey drops to 2-22.
