(Avoca) After a 4-11 start to the season, the AHST softball team has won five of their last seven games. Their most recent win came Monday against Audubon 10-3. The Vikings trailed 3-0 early on, but came through with a 6 run 3rd inning to take the lead for good. Brianna Martens, Haley Blum, Angeline Enke, and Marissa Kay all had multi-hit games against the Wheelers.
They’ll have a big challenge ahead of them Wednesday night...
9-13 AHST is set to square of with 20-3 Treynor this evening. Viking head coach Jamie Braman says there is a mental hurdle her team needs to clear in order to compete with the defending state champs.
Coach Braman credits the team’s defense for their improved record over the past couple of weeks. She says the team has gotten more comfortable in the field as the season has gone on.
