(Anita) It has been quite a week for the CAM baseball team. The Cougars are on a tear ever since their 1-0 win over Exira-EHK last Tuesday. The team has posted three straight lopsided wins and runs their season record to 7-4.
Corning was the latest victim of CAM's high octane attack with a 17-0 Cougar win on Wednesday. Before that it was CAM topping Glidden-Ralston 19-3 and Iowa Christian Academy 17-9. During their last three games, CAM has posted 44 hits and a team average of .488. They are averaging 17.6 runs per game in that span. By comparison, the Cougars previous season high was 11 runs and they had scored more than eight runs only twice in their first eight games.
Trevor McKee pitched the win against Corning with 8 strikeouts. Trevor McKee threw four innings allowing only three hits and four walks in the shutout. He also supplied plenty of offense with a 3-3 day at the plate, 3 RBI, and 3 Runs Scored. Ryan Barnholt and Jarod McKee each posted two hits in the Corning win while Jarrad Cavin had a hit, scored three runs, and stole two bases.
The Cougars will try to extend their win streak to five games when they take on Orient-Macksburg tonight.
