(Griswold) The pitching has been good but the offense and defense have struggled in the early part of the 2013 baseball season according to Griswold coach Kevin Whitehill. The Tiger's have not gotten off to the start they were hoping for and sit at 0-5 heading into the third week of the season.
The squad has two days off to start the week before heading to Audubon for a conference matchup on Wednesday. Coach Whitehill says the team is still very young, just like they were a year ago. They have just two seniors and no junior starters forcing them to start several underclassmen across the diamond.
Coach Whitehill says he's hoping to see 7 innings of good baseball as the team tries to right the ship. The team is hitting just .112 at the plate and scoring less than five runs per game.
