(Griswold) If things dry out enough, Griswold will host #1 ranked Treynor in high school softball Friday tonight.
Griswold is 2-2 on the season which includes wins against CAM and Riverside to go along with losses to Glenwood and AHST. They’ve scored a combined 30 runs in their two victories. Head coach Peggy Hansen says she noticed the team’s bats starting to pick up at the end of last year. She lists Hannah Misner, Larissa Backhaus, Brooke Hansen, and Kinzey Nicklaus all as key bats in the lineup.
Griswold only lost one senior from last year and has just four upperclassmen on the team this year.
Coach Hansen admits there is a mental barrier her team needs to cross in order to have an opportunity to take down the defending state champions.
Treynor enters play on Friday with a 12 game win streak. They’ve shut out eight of their last twelve opponents dating back to last season.
