(Oakland) For the first time in school history, the Riverside Bulldogs will be represented at the boys state soccer tournament. They punched their ticket to the 1A State Tourney with a 2-1 win over Tri-Center on Saturday.


Riverside improves to 12-5 overall with the sub-state win. They have outscored the opposition 12-2 over the course of their three game run in the sub-state tournament. That includes wins over Missouri Valley, St. Albert, and Tri-Center. Dating back to the regular season, the team has won four straight games and five of their last six.


The boys soccer qualfication continues a fantastic 2012-13 athletic year for the Bulldogs. Riverside has sent full boys teams to the state meet in Cross Country, Basketball, Golf, and now Soccer. Additionally, Riverside has had individual qualifiers in Wrestling and Track.
