REGULAR SEASON COMPLETE, POSTSEASON UP NEXT FOR HARLAN GIRLS SOCCER

(Harlan) The regular season is in the books for the Harlan girls soccer team, the squad finishes with a 10-7 mark. It was an up and down season that saw the team rattle of wins in seven of their first eight games but then lose their next five in a row. They righted the ship however and won three of the last four regular season contests.

The late season surge included a big win over Class 2A top-15 ranked Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey on Tuesday night. The Cyclones edged the opposition by a 2-1 count. Coach Jared Boysen credits his squads defense for that win. Ana Petersen and Sidney Mills each scored goals for Harlan in the regular season finale. Petersen's 27 goals on the year ranks 5th in Class 1A.

Harlan now awaits the winner of Atlantic or Creston in the regional tournament. Harlan will host their second round opponent on Friday, May 31st. Coach Boysen says the extra rest will be a benefit for the team.
