(Oakland) For the first time in school history the Riverside boys golf team will compete in the state tournament.
The Bulldogs will be one of eight teams in the field at the Lake Panorama National Resort for the 36 hole tournament which begins on Friday and wraps up on Saturday.
Coach Gary Wax is setting the bar high for the team heading into the state meet. He would like to see the team finish in the top four and if they play well he says they could be in the top two. They have the third best qualifying round from last Friday's district tourney.
Individually, Eric Rock has a good opportunity to compete towards the top of the field. Rock shot a 73 in the district tournament which is the 2nd best qualifying score across the state.
