(Iowa City) Former Atlantic High School track star Jordan Mullen has a gold and a silver medal to add to his list of awards after this past weekend's Big 10 Track and Field Championships.
The University of Iowa senior placed in both the 110 Meter High Hurdles and 4X100 Meter Relay during the conference meet held in Columbus. Mullen led off the Hawkeyes conference champion 4X100, the senior quartet of Mullen, Justin Austin, Ethan Holmes, and Josh Larney rounded the track in 40.20. They finished .03 ahead of Nebraska's 4X100 group.
Mullen's other hardware came in the 110 Meter High Hurdles with a 2nd place finish. He ran in 13.76. Illinois' Vanier Joseph won the event in 13.70. Mullen improves on his 5th conference finish at the conference meet last year.
Next on the Iowa track schedule is the NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas May 23-25th. The NCAA Championships will be June 6th-8th in Eugene, Oregon.
