(Atlantic) One year after coming in a disappointing 3rd place in the conference, Audubon came through with a 378 stroke team total to win the Western Iowa Conference Girls Golf Tournament played Tuesday at Nishna Hills Golf Course in Atlantic.

Audubon's Susie Bylund submitted the top score of any golfer with a 78. Lexie Thygesen came through in a big way, according to coach Paul Lynch, she shot a 95 and placed 5th. Faith Fliflet's 102 and Rachel Flug's 103 also contributed to the Wheeler's team score. Treynor finished 2nd with a 404. The Cardinals had two golfers in the top five, they were Jennifer Owens (4th, 95) and Brooke Goss (6th, 98). Other place winners included Taylor Gardener of Missouri Valley finishing 2nd with an 82 and Chelsie Hardesty of Underwood who shot 95 to place third.

Outside of Audubon and Treynor in the team race, it was Missouri Valley (3rd, 448), Griswold (4th, 450) and AHST (5th, 465) finishing in the middle of the pack. Tri-Center and Underwood rounded out the team field in that order.
