(Neola) The Tri-Center girl soccer team picked up not one but two wins on Tuesday. The Trojans downed Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey 5-3 and beat Riverside 4-2. The pair of victories keeps a Tri-Center win streak alive at seven games. The team has not lost since suffering a 5-2 decision to Class 1A #3 ranked St. Albert all the way back on April 12th. There other loss is also to a ranked opponent, Harlan, by a 4-3 count on April 8th.
In yesterday's win against Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey, junior Kaylee Grote netted three more goals which extends her state lead in that category. Fellow junior Nikki Paulson added the other two goals in the 5-3 victory.
Next up for 9-2 Tri-Center is a rematch with Harlan this Thursday (May 9th). The Trojans have five games remaining in the regular season inlcuding three against ranked teams. Girls soccer postseason play begins on May 28th. Tri-Center has a first round bye and will play the winner of the AHST and Underwood match on May 31st. Tri-Center is ranked 15th for Class 1A in the latest IGHSAU rankings.
