(AUDUBON) The Audubon boys varsity golf team played its first home meet on Thursday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m. at the Audubon Golf and Country Club and defeated Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton and Coon Rapids-Bayard.
Team scores were Audubon 175, Coon Rapids-Bayard 195, Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton 199. Audubon senior Andy Hoffmann was medalist with 39, and Exira-EHK's Chance Lauritsen was runner-up with a 44.
Contributing to Audubon's winning team score were Chase Petersen (45), Drew Christensen (45), and Jalen Nelson (46).
Audubon's varsity record is now 2-1.
Next week's competitions are at Tri-Center (Monday), home vs. AHST (Tuesday), at Atlantic for the Western Iowa Conference Meet at Nishna Hills (Wednesday), home
vs. MoValley and Griswold (Thursday), and at Anita for the CAM Invitational (Saturday).
"It was great to play in real golf weather, and to play at home," stated Wheeler head coach Gary Keller, "Even though we've had winter throughout March and April, Steve Buller, Audubon Country Club superintendent, has the course in beautiful condition."
