ADAM COURTNEY'S 34 POINT NIGHT LEADS GUTHRIE CENTER PAST WOODWARD-ACADEMY

(Guthrie Center) A talented and decorated group of Guthrie Center seniors played their final game in front of their home crowd Tuesday night. The Tiger's went out at home with a win, a 65-55 decision over Woodward-Academy.

Guthrie Center advanced to their fourth straight district final game thanks in large part to senior Adam Courtney who scored 34 points. Adam Courtney sank 18 of his 19 free throw attempts and finished just four points shy of his season high. He also contributed 9 rebounds and 8 steals. Senior Caleb Courtney's stat line, as usual, was filled well with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals.

The Tigers head into the district final with a record of 19 wins and 4 losses. They have won five straight games. Thursday night's opponent in the district final will be 22-1 Ankeny Christian Academy.  22-1 Murray and 21-2 Lamoni are the two teams still alive on the opposite side of the substate.
