(Manning) For the 4th time in the last 5 years IKM-Manning will compete in the girls state basketball tournament. The Wolves punched their ticket with a 63-49 win over Treynor in the Region 7 Final.
Kaylee Blake scored a game high 20 points and Morgan Muhlbauer pitched in with 18. The game was tight most of the way with IKM-Manning up by just five at halftime and holding a six point lead after three quarters.
3rd ranked IKM-Manning improves to 23-1 on the season with their lone loss against fellow state qualifier #2 Lawton-Bronson. IKM-Manning ranks 2nd in the state with their 74 points per game average. The Wolves lead the state in three pointers made with 178 this season.
They'll oppose 19-5 Maquoketa Valley in the first round on Tuesday, February 26th at 10:00 a.m. If IKM-Manning advances they could see a semi-final rematch with 24-1 Lawton-Bronson who opens with 19-4 Iowa City Regina.
