(Avoca) 32 minutes of regulation couldn't determine a winner and neither could a pair of 5 minute overtime sessions. Finally in the third overtime it was CAM eliminating AHST from the boys district basketball tournament by a final score of 73-70.
CAM was led, as they have been for much of the season, by senior Trevor McKee and junior Michael Holste. The duo combined for 59 of the team's 73 points. McKee established a new season high in scoring with 33 topping his previous high mark of 28. Holste's 26 points were also a season high for him.
CAM, now 9-13 overall, avenged a regular season loss from their season opener to AHST. The Cougars will play 21-1 Riverside in the district semi-finals at Riverside on Tuesday. Underwood and West Harrison will play in the other district final. AHST's season is over with an 11-11 record. Sophomore Lee Whyte registered 26 points in the loss.
