(Neola) Despite entering the postseason play with a sub-.500 record the Tri-Center boys basketball team rolled past MVAO in the first round of the district tournament. The Trojans picked up a 72-52 to earn the right to play IKM-Manning in the district semi-finals on Thursday.
Britton Barrier posted 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win. Ian Miller added a dozen points and Marty Dollen buried three 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 11 points.
Coach Chad Harder says it was a great win for the team. The strong outside shooting returned which coach Harder says was important in the win. The Trojans were also able to control the pace of the game. They held their opponents scoreless in the second quarter.
Now Tri-Center will have a rematch with IKM-Manning. The Wolves handed Tri-Center an 85-40 loss in the final game of the regular season. Tri-Center is 11-11. IKM-Manning is 20-1.
