(Atlantic) The Atlantic Boys Basketball team won the Hawkeye Ten Conference Title outright for the second year in a row Friday night with a 47-38 win over Creston.
Sam Markham led the (19-1) Trojans with 14-points, Dalton Franken added 12, and Chad Christiansen added 9-points in the contest.
The Trojans led almost the entire game with quarter leads of 10-9, 21-18, 36-31 and 47-38. The Panthers came out in the second quarter on a 4-0 run, but the Trojans were able to answer and regain the lead with a game high margin of ten-points in the middle of the fourth quarter.
Crestons’ 6’8 Senior Ryan Cook and guard Trey Thomsen scored 9-points each to lead Creston. Briar Evans chipped in 6-points.
The (17-3) Panthers play Harlan in their final conference game on Tuesday night. The Trojans travel to Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln Tuesday night for a non-conference regular season finally.
