(Manning) IKM-Manning has won eight straight games to finish of the regular season with a 20-1 record. The Wolves only loss of the season came to 21-1 Lawton-Bronson, a loss that they avenged in the conference championship game.
The regular season finale came Thursday night at home against Tri-Center. They won the game decisively, 85-40. That marks the 6th time this season that the Wolves have topped the 80 point mark. The team finishes the regular season with a 68.4 point per game offensive average which ranks 5th in the state for Class 2A. TJ Sterk led the team on Thursday with 18 points. Four of his teammates joined him in double figures: Sam Wegner 17, Cody Eischeid 16, Joe Herbers 12, and Scott Opperman 10.
IKM-Manning is one of just four teams in the state in Class 2A to finish the season with 20 wins. They are among a handful of 2A teams with one loss or fewer.
IKM-Manning just might see Tri-Center again soon. The Wolves have a first round bye in the Class 2A district tournament and await the winner of the first round matchup between MVOA and Tri-Center.
